Hot Topics In Infection And Immunity In Children (IIC) – The ESPID-Oxford Course is a residential training course which aims to provide basic information and updates in key areas of paediatric infection.

The course is targeted at paediatric infectious disease trainees and trainers, and all those who manage children with infections. Delegates come from all over the world there is usually a 50/50 mix of trainees/consultants.

All are encouraged to participate in the interactive sessions to provide their knowledge and comments about the topics under review. All sessions are plenary and include a mix of lectures and case rounds.

IIC 2025 will be the 22nd edition of the course. All lectures will take place in Lecture Theatre 2, Mathematical Institute, Andrew Wiles Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6GG

The IIC Organising Committee recommend physical attendance of IIC 2025 if at all possible. Virtual participation will be an option for those unable to travel to Oxford.

Sessions will include:

  • Lectures with opportunity for questions at the end of every presentation
  • Case Rounds - interactive sessions with a panel, every day after lunch
  • Debate

Historically RCPCH has approved IIC for CPD in accordance with their current RCPCH CPD guidelines.
